What is your shop?
M. Augusta Woodland (http://maugustawoodland.etsy.com)
What is your art/craft?
Silver filigree and beaded jewelry
Describe your style in 2 words: Classic & ornate
What is your favorite piece and why? My favorite piece is currently my Queen Margot necklace. I feel like design-wise it’s a very tight and put together necklace. I love the darkness of it, bordering on gothic. I also love the solid weight of the piece in my hand and how it doesn’t feel heavy around my neck.
What is the most memorable piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Don’t go into jewelry-making for a living.
What is the one piece of advice you’d give?
Don’t go into jewelry-making for a living. Just kidding! I’d say don’t give up on following your dream. It’s a hard road, but the thrill of selling your art is addictive.

your advice about don’t go into jewelry making is dead on!! i wonder what the *&^%$ caused such a big increase in jewelry making…? A few years ago there were a heck of a lot less!! Live and learn..Anyway, love your shop. Your items are gorgeous and look very well thought out.
You’re right..It’s always a thrill when someone buys your “goodies”…Best of Luck

I’ve bought a lot of items from Meganne as gifts for my girlfriend, my friends, my cousins, my aunt, and my mother. Everyone always loves them! What’s also awesome about Meganne’s work is the wide range of tastes and styles she accommodates. When she came out to visit me in Los Angeles, I hosted a jewelry party and then we drove up to my parent’s house in Santa Barbara for another. Everyone who came bought something and left happy, from conservative aunts to chic dancers.
I’m not getting paid for this! ;o)
